I am combining the weekend because never did too much that is exciting and rather not bore anyone (or my future self) by reading two posts for no real reason.

Like my last post mentioned, I got home late (early) this morning, but I still got up around 10 or 11 am to do some work. I thought about going somewhere to explore, but I didn't want to spend money, so I just stayed in. I watched a couple of movies and made dinner. I ate my dinner watching TV with my landlord. That was pretty much my whole Saturday.

On Sunday I had a lazy day again. I made lunch, read a bit, and then went out to explore a little bit. I went to the shops nearby. They are only 10 minutes or so away (I went around the long way before I actually found them, so I am not sure of the exact length of time). I bought some Kiwi food and walked to the ocean. I took some pictures, but you will have to wait to see them when I get my cord from the office. I then walked back (I took multiple wrong ways) and worked on my ethics review. Oh yeah, by the way. I finally got my ethics review application back and got some suggestions to change they way I present my interviews. I was excited when I got the email on Friday morning, but Canada Day. I plan on having that finished tomorrow and perhaps go through New Zealand ethics next.

So, the L&P is New Zealand's drink. It tastes a lot like ice tea with a lemon taste. It's is apparently New Zealand's ice tea I guess, even though it is owned by Coca Cola. I find they do not sell some of the flavours that are sold in Canada. They do not sell root beer or Dr. Pepper. They do sell sprite though. Oddly enough, I have not seen any Pepsi products sold here that I can remember. Obviously a different market, but I will keep my eyes open to see any other differences.

I have also noticed a bunch of other differences, like they do not care if birds are indoors. I was in the food court at the mall and people ignored the small birds that were swooping past their heads. Another interesting difference is how Kiwi's walk. I guess this should have been apparent, but it appears as though people walk on the sidewalk in the same fashion as how they drive on the road. I guess I inadvertently got in a few people's way not knowing this. More to come in the following days and weeks.
