My First Day...

I have arrived in New Zealand safe and sound. The short 14 hour plane ride went well and got a full 2 hours of sleep, but at least I got to watch Zootopia. Now to navigate the expansive public transit system for the least amount of money. Too late, as I spent $18 on a bus ride to the Auckland inner city. I then transferred buses to make it to Albany, a 10 minute drive from Auckland. Because it was still early (I arrived at 5 am), most places were closed and I had to wait for everything to open.
At around 9:30 I was able to store my large suitcase and meet with my supervisor here. It was a great meeting and we talked about #Brexit while making some remarkable revelations. I went downtown Albany to shop for things, like a bank account, a watch strap, and anything else that caught my eye. After getting ripped off paying $38 dollars for a watch strap, I went back to the University to catch a ride home to my hopeful flat that would house me for the next three months.
When I got there, which is only a 5 minute walk to the beach by the way, I met with my landlord and she made me dinner. We had a nice talk and got to know each other. After watching a game show I went to bed early around 8:30 and had a deep sleep.

As you can see, this was not the exact plane I was flying in and it is daylight. I have not been able to take pictures yet, but perhaps once I have my camera charged I can take a lot more. Just to give you visual, it is very green and rainy here.
